Latest Update: Global NCAP has revealed that the Nexon has now scored a five-star
rating in their crash tests. The five-star rating is for adult occupant protection. Child
occupant protection rating remains the same at three-stars. Tata has added passive safety
features like a seat belt reminder to make this possible.
A new model of the previously launched KRAZ variant of the Nexon has been spotted. It
features a new Calgary White paint job with similar highlights as the black paint scheme
of the KRAZ edition. The car has been spotted in a factory setting, hinting at an imminent
Tata Nexon variants and prices: The Tata Nexon is available in five variants – XE, XM,
XT, XZ and XZ+ – with further variants for dual-tone roof and/or automatic transmission.
Prices for the Nexon range between Rs 6.22 lakh and Rs 10.66 lakh (ex-showroom
Tata Nexon engine, transmission and mileage: The Tata Nexon gets the choice of a 1.2-
litre turbo-petrol engine (110PS/170Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (110PS, 260Nm).
Compared to others in this segment, the Nexon’s engines offer the most torque and are
the among the most powerful options as well. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed
manual transmission or a 6-speed AMT. The petrol-powered Nexon has a claimed
mileage of 17kmpl, while the diesel-powered sub-4 metre SUV returns 21.5kmpl for the
diesel version with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Tata Nexon features: There is a lot on the top-spec XZ+ that is not offered on the entrylevel Nexon XE. The top-spec variant gets features like a ConnectNext infotainment
system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display by Harman-Kardon that supports Android
Auto and plays sounds through an 8-speaker sound system. It also gets projector
headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), automatic climate control with rear
AC vents and multiple drive modes (Eco, City and Sport). Safety features like dual front
airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS with EBD and corner stability control are
offered as standard. This sub-4m SUV received a 4-star safety rating from Euro NCAP
recently. It has a ground clearance of 209mm (unladen), while the boot space is rated at
